DESCRIPTION OF CONTRIBUTING EDITOR POSITION:
The Contributing Editors of NCURA Magazine are responsible for content of the Magazine, which keeps the membership informed of news and items of interest within NCURA, and in the profession of research administration.

DURATION: Two years.

A. Function of Position – Contributing Editors of the Magazine are responsible for one article per magazine (6 issues per year) on a topic coinciding with their particular area of assignment, including solicting articles and recruiting authors (members and/or non-members of NCURA), review of articles, and timely submission of articles in the approved APA style to the Co-Editors. Contributing Editors can also serve as author or co-authors for articles, when applicable. Additional duties may include communication with authors regarding possible follow-up opportunities associated with their articles, such as live blogs, YouTube videos, NCURA Collaborate discussions, etc. Opportunities for mentorship is available. The Contributing Editor works in conjunction with Co-Editors and peer Contributing Editors.

B. Time Commitment – Approximately four (4) to six (6) hours per issue (six (6) issues per year) is devoted to Magazine responsibilities.

C. Qualifications/Requirements – Knowledge of research administration issues, APA style and citation standards, current topics within their area of expertise, excellent writing, editing, effective communication skills and deadlines management.
