Meeting Mentor Program

Meeting Mentor Experience at the NCURA Annual Meeting

Each year, NCURA offers a free "meeting mentor experience" to connect those who are new to NCURA or to the Annual Meeting with colleagues who have attended before. We hope that these pairings help NCURA members make connections to fellow research administrators and get the most out of their Annual Meeting.

For First Time Attendees

The Mentee Experience

The NCURA Annual Meeting Mentor Program provides first-time participants, or participants who have recently begun attending NCURA meetings, an opportunity to enhance their meeting experience by connecting with colleagues and expanding their peer network.

What to look forward to

  • A meeting mentor to guide you and enhance your experience during your first Annual Meeting
  • Helpful insights on which sessions may be most beneficial based on attendee's interests or goals
  • A helpful connect to learn how to get more engaged with activities happening at the Annual Meeting
  • Learn personal experiences and tips from those that have attended an Annual Meeting before

For Returning Attendees

Give Back as a Mentor

Share your wisdom and advice with a new participant to help them get the most from their first Annual Meeting. Mentors connect with their mentees prior to the meeting to provide information about the conference experience and to answer any questions regarding session offerings, logistics, etc. On-site, connect at networking events and assist your mentee in meeting other members.

What to look forward to

  • Connecting onsite with 2-3 mentees at the Annual Meeting to give warm friendly welcomes and networking opportunities
  • Sharing valuable insights from previous Annual Meeting experiences with 2-3 mentees aiming to help optimize their first meeting.
  • As requested, help the attendee navigate any social events or networking receptions associated with the meeting.
  • Offer insights on which sessions may be most beneficial based on attendee's interests or goals
  • Share useful tips to navigate the NCURA App
