DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The NCURA Magazine is the primary instrument for keeping the membership informed of news and topics of interest within NCURA and in the profession of research administration. The Co-Editor of the Magazine is responsible to assist in the development of content and support production of the Magazine. The Co-Editor is appointed after a competitive application process and confirmation by the Board of Directors.
DURATION: Three (3) years.
Function of Position and Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The Co-Editors of the Magazine are responsible to assist in the development of content and support production of the Magazine, including determining the themes of each issue, overseeing deadlines for article submission, coordinating article submissions, editing article submissions, and working closely with a group of five to six (5-6) contributing editors to produce and deliver articles for six (6) issues per year. This inculdes development and solicitation for assigned track articles each issue, the development and execution of thematic issues, and strategic planning each publication year. The Co-Editor provides support to Contributing Editors and works in conjunction with the Senior Editor, Executive Editor, and peer Co-Editors.
Time Devoted - Approximately ten (10) to twelve (12) hours per issue (6 issues per year) is devoted to Magazine responsibility. Annual editor planning meeting - two (2) days, including travel.
Qualifications/Requirements
Training and Support - Support is available from the Senior Editor and Executive Editor.
Additional Information (Benefits, Cost Reimbursement, Travel Requirements, etc) - Travel for Magazine planning meeting is reimbursed by NCURA.
