Study Tour to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for International Members.
This is an exciting opportunity for Region VIII members to visit the NIH campus and learn expert advice from NIH staff.
Date: Thursday 8 August 2019 (directly following the NCURA 61st Annual Meeting)
Cost: $150 early bird rate, $200 normal rate
The NIH both conducts its own scientific research through its Intramural Research Program and provides major biomedical research funding to non-NIH research facilities through its Extramural Research Program. You will have this unique opportunity to visit the NIH research facility and participate in discussions that are relevant for non-US institutions. We are preparing a schedule that will both informative and stimulating for our members. Take advantage of travelling to Washington for the Annual Meeting by adding an extra day and enjoying an educational trip to the NIH whilst networking with fellow Region VIII members.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the NCURA Global Fellowship Program. As part of the celebration, NCURA is planning several special celebratory events at this year's NCURA Annual Meeting (AM61) held in Washington DC, August 4th-7th, 2019.
We encourage past Global Fellows to attend AM61 and to join us for the special events planned.
Over the coming months, NCURA will be updating this page with additional information on the specifics of the special events.

The NCURA International Region Travel Award supports attendance at the NCURA Annual Meeting. These meetings are held in Washington D.C. in August of each year.
The 2019 Travel Award is now open.
Travel Awards of $1,000 each will be provided to Region VIII members to reimburse costs associated with registration, travel, hotel or related expenses to the Annual Meeting. The Region VIII Executive board will select the successful recipients based on the submitted application and letter of support. The Region VIII Executive board will make the final decision on the number of travel awards granted depending on the number of applications and budget available. Travel awardees must submit a report within a month of the meeting, describing their experience and benefit from attending the meeting. The report template will be available on the Region’s webpage. The awardees must submit the report with the reimbursement request and relevant receipts/documents.
Please complete and submit the application form (Word) with a letter of support from the nominee’s supervisor and send it to Stefania Grotti, Secretary, International Region as one consolidated PDF document by May 19, 2019. Nominees will be notified of the outcome by June 7, 2019.
