First Time Attendees

Welcome First Time Attendees of NCURA’s 19th Annual Financial Research Administration Conference

Welcome first time attendees! We are excited you will be joining us for the 2018 Financial Research Administration (FRA) Conference in Orlando/Lake Buena Vista, FL. Now that you've registered, you may be wondering what to expect. As a conference attendee, you will receive informative education from presentations, discussions, open forums and panels, while also experiencing the best networking, with like-minded Research Administrators. The tips below will help you have an engaging and enjoyable conference experience.

Before the Conference

Map out your goals: For first time conference attendees the experience can seem overwhelming. If you’re wondering how to navigate the many sessions and discussion groups, consider focusing on a few topics that interest you instead of trying to participate in everything. Be sure to discuss with your supervisor before departing, to ensure you are attending the appropriate sessions. Please visit the Program in order to learn more, and identify what sessions are taking place during the conference.

Volunteer: We are always looking for volunteers to help at the conference. This is great way to be seen and to meet others, including some of the many presenters if serving as a session host. Please click HERE to see our volunteer opportunities!

At the Conference

Seek Out the Welcome/Registration Desk: Locate the Welcome/Registration Desk and stop by at any point during the conference for assistance. Conference staff will help you locate sessions and answer any questions that come up during your time in Orlando.

Attend sessions and trainee events: Use your planned agenda as a guide, but also be open to trying something new. Attend a session that is not directly related to your current responsibilities. You may discover new ideas or collaborators where you least expect them.

Networking Events: The FRA Conference isn’t only a great place for education, it’s also an excellent opportunity to network with your peers! We have special events during the 2018 FRA Conference to help you create lasting professional relationships.
