FMC Subcommittee on Development
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The FMC Subcommittee on Development is comprised of 6 appointed members, an appointed chair and the Treasurer Elect.
DURATION:
3-year appointment, the members will have staggering terms
- Function of Position - The FMC Subcommittee on Development is responsible for creating an annual development plan, fostering continuity from year to year, identifying potential sponsors, reviewing and revising opportunities for sponsorship, communicating with sponsors as requested in coordination with the National Office, identifying policy of procedural issues that need to be addressed, and working with program committees to make sure sponsors are appropriately recognized.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities & % Time Devoted - Essential duties are reviewing and revising sponsorship opportunities, identifying potential sponsors, and communicating with sponsors. Subcommittee members will not be expected to make initial contact with prospective sponsors; these contacts will be handed by NCURA staff. The committee will conduct the majority of their activities by e-mail and conference calls. The committee may meet in person twice a year.
- Qualifications/Requirements
- Knowledge and/or Skills - The member should be familiar with NCURA programs.
- Education and/or Experience - The member should have sufficient experience with research administration to identify potential sponsors and understand the benefits that accrue to both NCURA and sponsors from sponsorship. Experience with communications, marketing or development is strongly preferred.
- Training and Support - The National office staff will support the committee with all tasks and will provide all required training.
- Additional Information (Benefits, Cost Reimbursement, Travel Requirements, etc) - All mandatory travel to meetings not held in conjunction with other events/meetings will be reimbursed by NCURA.
