Annual Meeting Program Committee
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Annual Meeting Program Committee is responsible for the development,
implementation and presentation of NCURA’s annual three-day program of concurrent sessions, discussion groups,
and plenary sessions and one to one and a half days of intensive workshops.
DURATION:
Approximately thirteen months, from mid-October to late November.
- Function of Position - The Chair coordinates and supervises the work of the Committee, determines the distribution of responsibilities, sets milestones for accomplishment throughout the year, supervises the activities of the Workshop Coordinator, oversees the program design and options for publication and dissemination to the membership, and is responsible for the overall production of the Annual Meeting.

- Qualifications/Requirements
- Knowledge and/or Skills – Ability to coordinate the activities of approximately twenty people working in a variety of topic areas and meeting functions; ability to prioritize program needs; ability to negotiate, and to coach and encourage members of the Committee as needed.
- Education and/or Experience – Familiarity with NCURA’s Annual Meeting and its overall goal of professional development. Expertise in general research administration issues and familiarity with various specialized topic areas.
- Training and Support - Extensive support is available from the NCURA office, as well as advice and consultation with the PDC.
- Additional Information (Benefits, Cost Reimbursement, Travel Requirements, etc) - Travel and miscellaneous expenses required for Annual Meeting Program Committee responsibility are reimbursed by NCURA as is Annual Meeting travel. In addition, Annual Meeting registration and lodging are covered by NCURA.
