Russell Brewer is the Associate Vice President of the Office of Sponsored Research at Stanford University. He previously served as the Director of Sponsored Programs at Baylor University, the Director of Sponsored Research at The Texas Engineering Experiment Station of the Texas A&M University System and as Departmental Business Manager for Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University. At Stanford, Russell’s team is responsible for proposal review and submission, award negotiation and acceptance as well as account set up. He frequently consults with legal firms preparing contracts for work with universities assisting them in offering the most “university friendly” agreements for their clients.
Russell graduated from Texas Tech University, is a Certified Research Administrator and has been active in NCURA since 1994, presenting at both the national and regional level on topics such as federal contracting, the FAR and negotiating agreements with US and foreign sponsors.
