Jane A. Youngers is the Assistant Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. In research administration for forty years, she has been affiliated with a number of institutions including the University of Rochester, New Mexico State University, the University of Chicago, and Cornell University. At San Antonio, Youngers’ office manages the full spectrum of research administration activities including pre-award, sponsored agreement negotiation, post-award, financial reporting, CAS compliance, indirect cost negotiation, and research compliance policy development and implementation. She is the primary staff to the institution’s Conflict of Interest Committee.
Youngers is a past president of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and was the 2002 recipient of its “Outstanding Achievement in Research Administration” award. She has also served as the Chair of the Board of the Council on Governmental Relations (COGR). She has taught numerous courses on sponsored programs administration and has co-authored publications on regulatory compliance. Presently she serves as contributing editor of the newsletter “Federal Grants News,” a companion to the subscription service publication “A Guide to Managing Federal Grants” that she co-authored and that is co-sponsored by NACUBO and NCURA. In addition, she is the author of the 2007 publication, “Regulation and Compliance” published by Atlantic Information Service and sponsored by NCURA.
