Beth Seaton

Beth Seaton is currently the Director of Research Administration for the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University.  Previously, she was the Director of Sponsored Projects at Western Illinois University, a predominantly undergraduate institution.  She has experience with faculty training and assistance, funding searches, budget development, sponsor liaison, contract negotiation, project administration, and all areas of research compliance.  Training and service are Beth’s particular areas of interest. Beth’s other previous experience includes work in the financial post-award areas and contract negotiation at Texas A&M University.  This combination of experience at both research institutions and a predominantly undergraduate institution give her a unique perspective on sponsored programs administration.

Beth has been an active member of NCURA since 1987.  She received the NCURA Region IV distinguished service award in 2009 and the NCURA National distinguished service award in 2011.  She is a member of the NCURA peer review team and has served as a traveling faculty member for the Fundamentals of Sponsored Project Administration since 2009.   She has served the organization as a member of many national and regional committees as well as a presenter for numerous workshops and professional development sessions.   Beth holds bachelors and masters degrees in economics.
