Barbara Gray is Director of Sponsored Programs & Research Administration at Valdosta State University in Georgia. She previously served as Director of Sponsored Research at Desert Research Institute and as Director of Research & Grants Administration at College of Charleston in South Carolina. Other positions she has held include Associate Director of Sponsored Research at Florida Atlantic University, Grants Administrator for the Richland Regional Medical Center Foundation in South Carolina, and Deputy Director of the Division of Health and Human Services in the South Carolina Governor’s Office.
Barbara has been an active member NCURA since 1990 and is currently the NCURA secretary. She has served on the NCURA Board of Directors as a presidential appointee in 2007, an at-large member in 2004-05, and a regionally elected representative from Region III in 2001-02. She is a past Region III Chair, Program Committee Chair, and Secretary-Treasurer. Barbara has served twice on the Annual Meeting Program Committee (coordinating the “Senior Research Administrator” track in 2006 and the “Predominantly Undergraduate Institution/HBCU/MI” track in 1999) and co-chaired the Electronic Research Administration national conference in Chicago in 2002. Additionally, she has served as workshop faculty at both national and regional levels and has presented, served as session planner and moderator, and led discussion groups numerous times for both regional and national NCURA meetings.
