Michele Codd

 

Michele Codd is the Associate Director of Sponsored Projects Administration at George Washington University, as of June, 2011. For the past 10 years, she was the Administrative Director of the Institute for Software Integrated Systems (ISIS) at Vanderbilt University. In this role, she oversees ISIS business administration, including personnel management, long range planning and daily operations. Other responsibilities include pre and post-award management of proposals, grants and contracts and serving as the Institute Export Control Coordinator. She was previously the Assistant Director in the Division of Sponsored Research at Vanderbilt University and Meharry Medical College and Grants Manager in the Department of Biology at MIT. Prior to a career in research administration, she was Research Associate in Biochemistry at MIT and an Electron Microscopist at Mass General Hospital.
Michele has been an active member of NCURA since 1997. She has been a regular presenter and served on the program committee for a number of NCURA Annual and FRA meetings, as well as a panelist for an NCURA Online Education Program “Tools for Departmental Administrators”, NCURATV 2007 workshop “Effort Reporting” and NCURATV 2008 workshop “Complex Agreements”. She is a team member of the NCURA Peer Review Program.  She is also an editorial board member for Report on Research Compliance: News and Analysis for Colleges, Universities and Teaching Hospitals and on the editorial advisory panel for SPONSORED RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION: A Guide to Effective Strategies and Recommended Practices, NCURA/Atlantic Information Services, Inc.
