WaterFire Providence®

WaterFire Providence®, held from May to October, is at once enthralling and engaging, sure to inspire and entertain the whole family. WaterFire is a powerful work of art consisting of one hundred sparkling bonfires, the fragrant scent of aromatic wood smoke, the flickering firelight on the arched bridges, the silhouettes of the fire tenders passing by the flames, the torch-lit vessels traveling down the river, and the enchanting music from around the world engage all the senses and emotions of those who stroll the paths of Waterplace Park.

WaterFire takes place in downtown Providence, Rhode Island, along Memorial Boulevard and the Providence and Woonasquatucket Rivers. It is right at the heart of downtown and runs for just over one half mile from Providence Place to the Crawford Street Bridge.

RWP Carousel Village and Caf&eaccut;: Carousel has fiberglass reproductions of museum quality antique designs of a charming old time Carousel and features some of the best carousel art ever created. The Carousel Village offers a variety of snacks, ice cream and lunch items to visitors in the take out Caf&eaccut;. At the Hasbro Boundless Playground, children with physical disabilities can enjoy at least 70% of the play activities without having to leave their support equipment behind. Equally important, the equipment is designed to be sensory rich and developmentally appropriate so children with all types of abilities can laugh, play and grow together.

RWP Boathouse

RWP Boathouse: Take advantage of this perfect activity for some unique sight-seeing via paddle boats, canoes, kayaks or an electric boat tour. Feast your eyes on beautiful scenery while taking a self-guided tour of the lake and surrounding areas. Paddleboats may be rented at a number of areas adjacent to Carousel Village - simply look for the signs!

RWP Botanical Center

RWP Botanical Center: Largest public indoor display gardens in New England. The Conservatory and greenhouses encompass approximately 12,000 square feet of gardens. During a visit to the Botanical Center, relax by a waterfall, enjoy the wonderful fragrance of flowers from around the world, take a child on a scavenger hunt or bring a camera or sketch pad!

La Gondola
