FRA IX Conference Financial Research Administration in a Climate of Change

Dear Colleagues,

Financial Research Administration fills our lives with federal regulations, institutional policies, and audits. Why not gather in a land known for JAZZ, VOODOO and PARADES to further your research administration knowledge?

If you have been to New Orleans before, you will certainly want to return for the great music, unique cuisine, history, and architecture. You know that just a walk through the French Quarter is lively and exciting. If you have never been to New Orleans, you will be amazed by the spirit and culture that has always existed and will always exist there. From the Marriott, you'll be close enough to stroll over to Cafe DuMonde for a beignet and a cup of coffee - one of the most delicious traditions in the world.

As FRA returns to a city which previously hosted our conference, we will reflect on the changes in research administration at all of our institutions. Our sessions have been expanded to include more workshops based on last year's evaluations and will focus on: changes on our campuses like succession planning and reorganizations; changes within federal regulations like technology requirements and compliance initiatives; and how all of us can be successful in today's current environment of constant change.

In line with our theme in a Climate of Change, we will be experiencing the beauty of the newly renovated New Orleans Marriott, a luxurious French Quarter landmark hotel, located in the heart of New Orleans. The Marriott, which rises 41 stories, will provide guests with spectacular views of the downtown skyline and the Mississippi River.

On behalf of the entire dynamic program committee, we invite you to celebrate New Orleans as we return to a city with rejuvenated spirits in the midst of a tremendous rebuilding effort. See you in New Orleans!
