Dr. Michelle Stickler is Director of the Office of Research Subjects Protection at Virginia Commonwealth University. In this capacity she provides oversight to all administrative operations in support of five Institutional Review Boards and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Prior to joining VCU in January of 2010, Michelle was the Associate Director for The Pennsylvania State University's Office of Research Protections where she led the operations of two IRBs, the IACUC, and responsible conduct of research education efforts. In addition to providing leadership to compliance functions, Michelle has been involved in several NSF funded research projects focusing on ethics education, as well as projects sponsored by the Council of Graduate Schools to foster ethical knowledge and behavior. Michelle holds a Doctor of Education in Adult Education from The Pennsylvania State University.
