Michele Codd is the Administrative Director of the Institute for Software Integrated Systems (ISIS) at Vanderbilt University. In this role, she oversees all ISIS business administration and sponsored research activity. She also serves as the Institute Export Control Coordinator. She was previously the Assistant Director in the Division of Sponsored Research at Vanderbilt University (pre-award) and Meharry Medical College and Grants Manager in the Department of Biology at MIT. Prior to a career in research administration she was Research Associate in biochemistry at MIT and an Electron Microscopist at Mass General Hospital.

Michele has been a research administrator for 18 years at both the departmental and central office and active member of NCURA for over 15 years. She has been a regular presenter and served on the program committee for a number of NCURA Annual and FRA meetings, as well as a panelist for an NCURA Online Education Program "Tools for Departmental Administrators", NCURA-TV's 2007 workshop "Effort Reporting" and NCURA-TV's 2008 workshop "Complex Agreements". She is a co-creator and a faculty member of the NCURA Departmental Research Administrator workshop. She is also an editorial board member for Report on Research Compliance and on the editorial advisory panel for SPONSORED RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION: A Guide to Effective Strategies and Recommended Practices.
