Marti has more than 30 years of research administration experience (how many more, she's not saying!). In her current position, she oversees the pre-award office as well as the human subjects protection and animal welfare programs. Additional responsibilities include research misconduct, conflict of interest, export controls, time and effort policy, cost-sharing, etc.

Marti holds a B.A. from Brandeis University in French language and literature and her graduate work was in Comparative Literature. A member of NCURA since 1978, among her many activities, she has served as Chair of Region II, served back-to-back terms on the Board of Directors from 2005-2008, and received a national NCURA Distinguished Service Award in 2005 as well as one from Region II in 2007.
