Marianne Rinaldo Woods, Ph.D., J.D., is the Senior Associate Vice President for Research Administration at The University of Texas at San Antonio. In this position she is responsible for all aspects of research administration including the Office of Sponsored Programs (pre and post award); the Office of Research Integrity and Compliance; the Office of Contracts and Industrial Agreements; the Office of Laboratory Animal Research; and, the Office of Commercialization Alliances and Innovation. She is also responsible for the development and implementation of university-wide policies and procedures ranging from export controls to intellectual property. Marianne is the 2009 recipient of NCURA's highest honor, the Outstanding Achievement in Research Administration Award. She is also one of the recipients of the 2006 Licensing Executive Society's National Deal of Distinction Award. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Society for Biomedical Research and Past President of the Texas Technology Transfer Association (T3A). She is currently chair-elect of NCURA Region V, lead faculty on NCURA's Departmental Research Administration Workshop, and a member of NCURA's Peer Review Program. She is also the former co-editor of the NCURA Newsletter, former member of NCURA's Professional Development Committee and Membership Committee, and a former member, both elected and Presidential appointee, of NCURA's Board of Directors. She is a past recipient of the NCURA's National Distinguished Service Award and NCURA's Region V Distinguished Service Award. She has served as faculty for NCURA's Fundamentals workshop, and Export Controls & Embargoes seminars and webinars. Marianne also serves on COGR's Board of Directors and COGR's Contracts and Intellectual Property Committee, and on the University Industry Demonstration Partnership's (UIDP) Board of Directors.
