Kevin Wozniak has been the Director of the Office of Technology Licensing at Georgia Institute of Technology since February 2008 after being appointed as the interim director the previous year. His responsibilities include identifying commercialization opportunities, the protection and management of the Institutes intellectual property, assisting in the negotiation of intellectual property clauses in sponsored research contracts, and providing guidance in matters related to intellectual property.
Mr. Wozniak has worked full-time in university technology transfer field since 1999, at three separate institutions within the State of Georgia, helping to turn promising scientific ideas into useful products and companies. Prior to entering a career in academia, he worked as a manufacturing engineer in the automotive industry designing assembly systems for new vehicles.
Mr. Wozniak has been actively nationally in university technology transfer matters. He serves as the co-chair of the Association of University Managers' Eastern Regional Meeting and is a member of AUTM's Sponsorship Committee. Mr. Wozniak also has an interest in research policy matters and has served on various committees dealing with contractual and research compliance issues. He has also served as a community member of a human subjects Institutional Review Board.
Mr Wozniak was the recipient of the 2006 Bayh-Dole Fellowship in Public Policy.
