Julie Cole has over thirty years experience in research administration in a variety of settings. She is currently the Director of Research Costing Compliance (RCC) at Duke University. RCC manages the dual functions of compliance education and financial compliance monitoring. This somewhat unique shared functionality enables RCC to monitor, integrate and remediate compliance issues through a highly collaborative interaction of risk management and training. The RCC education and training initiative has been in place for several years, and has served as a model for many other institutional training programs. Most recently RCC has significantly revised both its core curriculum and delivery systems to meet the demands of Duke University's growing grant management workforce.
Julie brings many years of experience in training and professional development to her work at Duke. She has served as a member of the NCURA PDC, and is a frequent presenter at NCURA meetings and special conferences. She has also served as president of the Society of Research Administrators International (SRA) and chaired the SRA PDC for two consecutive terms.
