Jody Freeman Power is currently Executive Director of the Institutional Review Board at Duke University Health System. Ms. Power joined Duke's Health System in 2002 and has been Executive Director of the IRB since 2004. She has also worked as an Information Scientist at Glaxo Research & Development and an Acquisitions Analyst at Glaxo Research Institute. Prior to joining Glaxo, Jody worked at Merck, Sharp & Dohme Research Laboratories, Northern Regional Research Center (which is part of USDA) and at Emory University in the Department of Chemistry. She has degrees in Chemistry, Biology, Physical Chemistry and an MBA. Ms. Power has received several academic and professional honors including the Duke University Meritorious Presidential Award in Executive Leadership in 2008. Additionally, she has co-written several articles for chemistry related publications.
