Freda Yoder, M.A., currently serves as a Human Subjects Protection Analyst in the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Before joining OHRP, Freda served seven years as a scientific reviewer/biologist for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Rockville, MD. Prior to that, she was an Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical Genetics, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC. Freda received an M.A. degree in biology/human genetics from the John Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD and a B.A. degree in Mathematics from Goshen College, Goshen, IN. In her current capacity, Freda provides clarification and education concerning the application of HHS regulations for the protection of human research subjects to institutions, IRBs, investigators, funding institutes, and the public. She also conducts quality assurance assessments of institutions' human subject protections programs.
