Dorothy A. Spurlock is the Director, Research & Sponsored Programs at The University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. She has been in research administration for 17 years. Prior to joining The University of Toledo, she served 8 years as the Associate Director of the Office of Research Development at Eastern Michigan University. At EMU, she functioned as Administrator of the IRB Committee in addition to other responsibilities. She has also served as Executive Director and Director of Operations for social service agencies in the non-profit sector; where she wrote grant proposals to secure operational funds. Ms. Spurlock has also owned and operated her own businesses and served as an elected official. She has degrees in Public Administration, Organizational Communications and almost Higher Education Administration.
