Dave Lynch works in the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration as the Associate Director for Industry-sponsored Research. Mayo Clinic recently completed a transformation of business practices for industry-sponsored research, using LEAN techniques. The Mayo Clinic has three sites (Rochester, MN, Phoenix, AZ and Jacksonville, FL) and has more than 1200 active clinical trials at present. Dave also functions as the research administrator for Emergency Medicine, Rheumatology, and Anesthesiology. In addition, he serves as the research administrator for Immunology, a basic sciences department. Dave previously worked with the University of Minnesota as a Senior Grant and Contract Administrator and with the State of Indiana as an administrator of grant programs. Dave received baccalaureate (Geography) and masters (Administration) degrees from Indiana University.
Dave has been actively engaged with NCURA since the start of his research administration career in 1990. He has presented at numerous regional NCURA meetings on topics ranging from the management of clinical trials to the art of balancing service with compliance in the highly regulated research environment. He has held various elected positions, participated on committees and actively volunteers in many regional roles. Dave has also participated in many ways with the national organization, most recently with the Nominating and Leadership Development Committee.
