Are you looking for inside tips and guidance for preparing and managing an NIH application and award?  We’re looking for members of the extramural research community who are ready for the latest information and strategies for success! Educational and interactive activities with senior NIH officials await those who join us on November 4, 2010 at the Washington Hilton.  Make plans to join us on this special day to learn more about the NIH grants process, policy, and programs, as well as the opportunity to network with NIH and your peers.
NIH officials will provide an insider's look at NIH, including history, organizational structure, the application submission and assignment process, peer review, and high priority initiatives at NIH. NIH grants management and program officials will discuss grant writing tips and budget issues.  Hear the latest updates on eRA Commons functions & new policies.  Don’t miss the new session on NIH electronic resources, such as RePORT, and how it can help administrators and investigators learn more about NIH funded research.  The day concludes with informal discussion groups on such topics as eRA, Training & Career Development, Administrative Issues, & Program/Review.
Our goal is for the day is to have you return to your office or lab with a better understanding of NIH and the grants process, as well as the knowledge of available resources to help you along the way.

Learning Objectives

• Participants will gain a better understanding of policies and procedures affecting the NIH grants process from application to post-award;
• Participants will have the opportunity for personal interaction with NIH staff and be able to obtain insight and suggestions for managing research grants in an increasingly complex environment.
