Rob Barbret is the Director of Sponsored Programs, Controller's Office at the University of Michigan. He has spent 25 of the last 33 years in the University's sponsored programs area, handling all post-award activities for funds awarded from external sponsors. His operation includes Sponsored Programs, Cost Reimbursement, Contract Administration as well as General Receivables. He also has experience in the Endowment funds, General funds, Gift funds, Student Loans, Accounts Payable and Travel Audit. The University of Michigan has extensive in-house training courses and Rob has helped develop and present coursework in research administration, fundamentals of supervision, basics of accounting, and "training the trainers". He has presented at national NCURA conferences, FRA conferences and at the annual CACUBO meetings. Rob is an active member of the Council on Government Relations (COGR), National College and University Research Administrators (NCURA), and has participated in the Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP). Rob is a graduate of the Collegiate Management Institute (CMI). He earned his B.S. in Accounting at Central Michigan University.
