Katherine Ho has been in research administration for 13 years. She is currently the Associate Director of the Office of Sponsored Research at Stanford University where she oversees contracts and grants, and financial post-award. Prior to Stanford, she served as Director of the Office of Sponsored Research at the University of California, San Francisco where she was responsible for contracts and grants (government and non-profit), industry contracts, conflict of interest, and research administration training. Her research administration career began as a contract officer at UCSF negotiating clinical trial agreements and then as senior contract officer at Stanford negotiating contracts for School of Medicine sponsored projects. While the majority of Katherine's experience is in the medical school area, her current responsibilities also include the Schools of Humanities and Sciences, Education, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Law and Business.
Katherine has held various positions with NCURA as officer, speaker/moderator and program coordinator. Currently, she is on the board of directors. Katherine's previous roles include regional secretary/treasurer, regional advisory committee, national program committee, regional program committee, national strategic working group, regional representative at the 2006 leadership and governance conference, regional nominating committee, and presenting and/or moderating at various conferences (financial research administration, pre-award research administration, national meeting, and regional meeting). Katherine has presented on various topics, including clinical trial agreements, intellectual property, confidentiality and publication restrictions, financial terms, material transfer agreements, and research administration training, both at NCURA and other professional conferences.
Katherine holds a B.A. in Economics from UCLA and a J.D. from Boston University.
