Awards Overview

NCURA's Nominating and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC) is responsible for the following distinguished and notable annual awards and for submitting to the Secretary the slate of officers and Board Members for annual elections. For specific award nomination or application information, including eligibility requirements, click on the “More Information” links below.

The deadline for nominations for 2017 awards (Outstanding Achievement in Research Administration; Julia Jacobsen Distinguished Service Award; Joseph F. Carrabino Award; and Catherine Core Minority Travel Award) and 2017 officers (Vice President/President-Elect, and At-Large Board Members) is March 24, 2017.

The National Conference Travel Award

More Information

This program supports travel for up to two individuals to attend the FRA and/or PRA meeting(s) who would financially not otherwise be able to attend these conferences. One recipient will be from a U.S institution and one recipient will be from an institution outside of the U.S.

The Catherine Core Minority Travel Award

More Information

This program supports travel to the NCURA annual meeting for up to four individuals from underrepresented groups who would not otherwise be able to attend this conference.

The NCURA Julia Jacobsen Distinguished Service Award

More Information 

This award is given to up to five individuals who have made significant contributions to NCURA. Please note, current National officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) and NCURA Standing Committee (FMC, NLDC and PDC) Chairs and Vice Chairs are ineligible for nomination for an NCURA Julia Jacobsen Distinguished Service Award.

The Joseph F. Carrabino Award

More Information 

This award is presented to a current, or former, federal employee who has made a significant contribution to research administration, either through a single project, innovation, activity, or by a lifetime of service.

The NCURA Gold Award

This award recognizes an individual who has made a sustained and distinctive contribution to the vitality and enduring legacy of NCURA.

The Outstanding Achievement in Research Administration Award

This award is given annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the profession of research administration. Please note, current National officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) and NCURA Standing Committee (FMC, NLDC and PDC) Chairs and Vice Chairs are ineligible for nomination for an Outstanding Achievement in Research Administration Award.
