Welcome. You are registered for an upcoming Fundamentals of Sponsored Projects Administration Workshop. Fundamentals is now comprised of two components: Pre-Workshop materials and the On-Site Workshop. To maximize your participation, we strongly encourage you to review all Pre-Workshop materials (Modules 1 and 2, two YouTube Tuesday Videos, and six documents) prior to attending the live On-Site Workshop. These Pre-Workshop Materials include:

3. “Special Demonstration of Facilities & Administrative Costs Calculations” - When charging expenses to sponsored projects, we directly charge some items (salaries, travel, supplies, equipment, etc.) while other expenses are charged indirectly (facilities & administrative costs).  The video, below, demonstrates how institutions calculate their F&A Rates, what expenses are supported through these rates, and as a consequence why these expenses cannot ALSO be directly charged.

4.  “Do I Follow the Award or the Circulars: Order of Precedence” - There are many rules and regulations which govern sponsored project administration.  In some instances, these rules may conflict.  The below video addresses the Order of Precedence utilized in the management of sponsored projects.
